Attic (2012)

film photography, software processing

Attic is a set of digital images in memory of passed ancestors. The underlying concept of the work is to synthesize aspects of the past with the future in order to convey deeper meaning to the phrase “lost but not forgotten”. By using old, found film photographs and digital image processing techniques, the resulting effect is one that combines analog and digital techniques in order to produce cosmic cobwebs over the vibrantly enhanced colors of the photographs. In essence, these images have been lost in the attic collecting dust and cobwebs, but the memories extend well into the future, ultimately synthesizing a sense of nostalgia with novelty.
