Pathways (2012)

film photography, software processing

Pathways is a set of digital images, which seeks to transcend our perception of reality. In using the aged, warm visual nature of film photography, coupled with the crisp veneers of digital imaging and generative art, this set of images seeks to synthesize aspect of the past and the future in unexpected ways. The work is fundamentally an exploration of our ability to recall past experiences. More often than not, our recollections of the past are nebulous, and as a result, we have a tendency to forget aspects while embellishing others. This work seeks to visually explore this predisposition by obfuscating components of the image while augmenting others.
